Chapter 2

Radhica couldn't shake off the feeling of discomfort as she walked back to her apartment after the conversation with Miley. Memories of her past life with her husband flooded her mind, reminding her of the pain and betrayal she had endured. She had never spoken about it to anyone, not even Austin, who had become a close friend after she started taking care of Ian.

As she entered her apartment, she saw a bouquet of flowers on the table. Confused, she looked around for a note or a card. She found a small envelope with her name on it and opened it with trembling hands. It was a letter from her ex-husband, apologizing for his past mistakes and expressing his desire to meet her.

Radhica's heart started racing as she read the letter. She didn't know how to react. Part of her still loved him, but another part of her was afraid to trust him again. She sat down on the couch and closed her eyes, taking deep breaths to calm herself.

A knock on the door interrupted her thoughts. She hesitated for a moment before getting up to answer it. As she opened the door, she saw a man standing there, with a bouquet of flowers in his hand. It was Jack, the man she had met at the coffee shop in Millfield.

"Hi," he said, smiling at her. "I hope you don't mind me dropping by. I couldn't stop thinking about you after we met, and I wanted to see you again."

Radhica felt a flutter in her stomach as she looked at him. He was charming and handsome, with a twinkle in his eyes that made her feel at ease.

"Come in," she said, stepping aside to let him in.

They sat down on the couch, and Jack started talking about his life in Millfield. He was a writer, working on his first novel, and had moved to the town a few months ago to find inspiration.

Radhica listened intently, feeling a connection with him that she had never felt with anyone else. They talked for hours, sharing their dreams and fears, and by the time Jack left, Radhica knew that she wanted to see him again.

As she lay in bed that night, she couldn't help but wonder if Jack was the one she had been waiting for. But the letter from her ex-husband still loomed over her, reminding her of the past that she had tried to forget.

The next day, as she walked to the university with Ian and Austin, she decided that she needed to face her past and confront her ex-husband. She called him and agreed to meet him later that day.

As she walked into the coffee shop where they had first met, she saw him sitting at a table, looking nervous. She sat down opposite him and looked into his eyes.

"Tell me," she said, her voice steady. "Why did you want to see me?"

Her ex-husband took a deep breath and looked at her with remorse in his eyes.

"I know I hurt you," he said. "I was selfish and foolish. But I've changed, Radhica. I've realized my mistakes, and I want to make things right between us."

Radhica listened to him, feeling a mix of emotions. Part of her wanted to forgive him and move on, but another part of her was afraid of getting hurt again.

As they talked, she realized that she needed time to think. She didn't know what the future held for her, but she knew that she needed to make a decision that would be right for her.

As she walked out of the coffee shop, she saw Jack waiting for her outside. He smiled at her, and she knew that she had found something special in him.

The rest of the day passed by in a blur, with Radhica feeling torn between her past and her future. But as she lay in bed that night, with Jack's words still ringing in her ears, she knew that she had made the right decision. She had found a new beginning, and she was ready to embrace it.
