Chapter 1: The Journey Begins

Radhica sat in the back of the Uber, staring out the window as the city lights passed by in a blur. Her mind was racing with a million thoughts, but the one that stood out the most was the fact that she was now divorced. It still felt surreal to her, even though she had signed the papers and left the mansion.

As she looked down at her hands, she noticed that her fingers were still adorned with the nuptial chain. She quickly took it off and placed it in her bag, not wanting any reminders of the past.

The Uber pulled up in front of a small hotel, and Radhica paid the driver before making her way inside. She had booked a room for the night, not wanting to burden any of her friends or family with her sudden departure.

As she lay in bed, she couldn't help but think about her future. She had always dreamed of pursuing higher education in the United States, and now that she was divorced, she had the opportunity to do so. She decided to enroll in the integrated Ph.D. program at Umass Lowell University and start a new chapter in her life.

The next morning, Radhica packed her bags and checked out of the hotel. She made her way to the airport and boarded a flight to Boston. As she sat on the plane, she couldn't help but feel a sense of freedom and excitement for what was to come.

When she landed in Boston, she made her way to the university and checked into her dorm room. It was a small room, but it felt like a new beginning to her. She unpacked her bags and hung up her medals and certificates on the wall. They were a reminder of her achievements and gave her the motivation to continue striving for success.

Over the next few weeks, Radhica threw herself into her studies. She was determined to excel in her program and make a name for herself in the field of chemistry. She made new friends and explored the city in her free time.

But despite her busy schedule, she couldn't help but think about her ex-husband from time to time. She wondered how he was doing and if he had moved on. But she quickly pushed those thoughts aside, reminding herself that she had made the right decision.

Radhica knew that her journey was just beginning, and she was excited for what the future held. She was no longer tied down to a loveless marriage, and she was free to pursue her dreams and live life on her own terms.
